Addressing Artificial Intelligence Anxiety in Higher Education with Positive Framing

ABSTRACT

This article illustrates how Appreciative Inquiry can respond to crisis narratives about the future of higher education in the age of generative AI. The first centers on the use of positive framing in discussions of the value of human tutors in an AI world. The second describes the Simultaneity principle’s role in redirecting faculty’s attention to core intellectual values in AI-focused faculty development programs.
