ABSTRACT

Having a process that is useful, practical and effective is a big challenge for peace building in addressing the serious problems facing today’s conflict-ridden world. This new millennium appears to be facing a particularly serious range of problems, one of the most intractable being the world of problems itself. In this article, Malcolm Odell discusses his many years of experience in the field of rural sociology and the wisdom he has gleaned from the exceptional, ordinary people he has worked with.
