Reimagining Neighborhood Associations with Diverse Community Stakeholders: Using Appreciative Inquiry for Generative Collaboration
ABSTRACT
This research project used qualitative interviews and focus groups to provide recommendations on restructuring the Neighborhood Associations program within a Pacific Northwest municipality to provide opportunities for bridging, a better sense of belonging, inclusion and equitable access to resources for all residents. Interviews and focus groups contained generative, open-ended questions using an appreciative structure to build consensus on purpose, vision and priorities for the municipality and city-supported programs.
