A Crown of Appreciative Sonnets

ABSTRACT

After retirement, Ada Jo Mann explored poetry through classes at a local bookstore. The sonnet form intrigued her, the crown of sonnets, a ring of fifteen related sonnets that begin and end with the same line. She decided to explore this complicated structure through the lens of a topic close to her heart, Appreciative Inquiry.

Ada Jo Mann began her career in international development as a Peace Corps Volunteer. Jane Watkins encouraged her to meet David Cooperrider. Their partnership resulted in the Global Excellence in Management (GEM) initiative which spread Appreciative Inquiry throughout the world. In her retirement she has become a poet and published Words Create Worlds. Her next collection, High Hopes, will be published later this year.
