Succession is the ultimate test of success manifested through sustainability in business when the business changes hands from a family member to a non-family member. This paper will emphasize the importance of creating a singular image when a business changes hands. Business leaders must engage in designing a singular image with shared ownership for successful succession. The paper provides questions to guide design thinking in family business when a non-family member is involved.
