The Four ‘I’s of Online Appreciative Teaching: Invite, Imagine, Integrate, Inspire

ABSTRACT

The Covid-19 pandemic has upended classrooms. Transitioning hurriedly from traditional teaching to educating online was, and continues to be, enormously complex. How can a digital classroom learning community be energized into a dynamic virtual reality?  Mary Kiley conducted interviews via Zoom with experienced educators who radically enjoy enriching and elevating online teaching using Appreciative Inquiry (AI). They are each contributing to this needed shift in education by the dynamic qualities described in this paper to invite, imagine, integrate, inspire.
