ABSTRACT

This article describes a program that attempts to support a community living in one of the harshest, most violent regions of Ecuador. The hope is to gradually generate different forms of relating and interacting based on the values of respect, accountability, dignity, freedom, relational ethics – and joy.

Diego Tapia Figueroa has taught at many Latin American universities. He studied filmmaking in Rome and earned a Masters degree in Systemic Family Therapy and a Ph.D. in literature in Ecuador. He was the president of Ecuador Corporation of Systemic Psychotherapy for four years, and has authored, edited and contributed to many books.
